Both doctors of Foothills Podiatry maintain privileges at Cleveland Regional Hospital, Kings Mountain Hospital and Cleveland Ambulatory Services. Keeping current with the podiatric profession is a top priority with both doctors. They maintain current and up to date credentials in foot surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Jeff Mauney
Dr. Jeff Mauney is a life long resident of Kings Mountain. He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1972 and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine in 1976 from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine which is now the Rosalind Franklin School of Science and Medicine. He has been in practice in Shelby and Kings Mountain since 1976. He has served on the Kings Mountain Hospital Board of Trustees and is currently serving as the President of the Board of Trustees of Mauney Memorial Library. He is a member and past President of the Kings Mountain Kiwanis Club. He and his wife Priscilla are active in many community events. Professionally Dr. Mauney has been a member of the American Podiatric Association and the NC Foot and Ankle Society for over 35 years. He is past president of the NC Foot and Ankle Society and has served as past President of the Board of Podiatry Examiners of the state of North Carolina. Dr. Mauney received The Order of the Long Leaf Pine in 2022, and retired in September 2022. Jeff has two beautiful adult daughters, Elizabeth and Margaret.
Dr. Ron Maskarinec
Dr. Maskarinec is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He attended Alderson-Broaddus College (Physicians Assistant Program) and graduated from Youngstown State University (Biology) in 1981. He also matriculated through the Masters Program at Youngstown State (molecular-cellular Biology) before attending Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland Ohio and graduated in 1989. His podiatric surgical residency was completed in 1991 in Winston-Salem/Greensboro, NC. In 1991 joined Foothills Podiatry in Shelby, NC. He is past president of both the NC Foot and Ankle Society and NC Board of Podiatry Examiners. Locally he has been past president of the Life Enrichment Center and Board member of the Cleveland/Rutherford Kidney Association. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 4th degree, and past member of Kiwanis Club of Shelby. He holds hospital privileges at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Cleveland Ambulatory Services and Kings Mountain Hospital. He and his wife, Dolly-a registered nurse, have 3 grown children.
Dr. Gretchen A. Lawrence
Dr. Gretchen A. Lawrence is a native of North Carolina. She grew up in Greensboro, where she attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University on a Valedictorian Scholarship. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, in 2002, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, prior to starting Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine. After finishing podiatry school, she completed a four year medical and surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania/Presbyterian Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After completion, she returned to North Carolina and has been practicing for the past eight years in her field of expertise. She enjoys treating patients of all ages with any foot or ankle pathology. She is excited about becoming a part of Foothills Podiatry and Shelby, NC. She is the mother of three children and is excited about welcoming you and your family into a part of her’s.
